31 Days to a Family Closet: How Will This Work?

When I started planning our family closet I had little inspiration. We are talking pre-Pinterest after all. I knew I wanted everything in one place and it made the most sense to keep everything near the laundry room. I turned to the colorful pages of the blue and yellow Swedish box store for most of my ideas and supplies. But even their space saving tactics plus my ability to rearrange until it all fits was no match for fitting an entire wardrobe of five people into one space. It has taken four years but I finally feel like I have a handle on just how much we can comfortably fit in our closet! {insert happy dance}

How can I fit everything into my family closet?

This may not be easy to hear, but you must purge your wardrobe.

Between season changes and the squishers constant knack for growing I have been changing out clothes every few months the past four years. In that time I have spent little time weeding out my own wardrobe. I did purge several bags of clothing when we first moved everything into the family closet and I will fill a bag to donate here and there but not the same way I have with the littles clothing. So this month I will be working my way through my own wardrobe right along side you. Unless you have a hugemongo house and you don't have to think about how to fit everything in one closet then you must be like me. The only way to find more space in our tiny home is to remove something not used.

Will you join me and clean out your closet? Once you have a removed items you no longer use you will have a much easier time moving your family's wardrobe into one place. This will take time and dedication. It may take you longer than me but I will still be here cheering you on and encouraging you to finally donate that sweater you purchased three years ago and have still yet to wear. Are you in?

I'm linking up with the Nester for her 31 Days series.
