Five Minute Friday

Five Minute Friday with Lisa-Jo Baker and hundreds of others. We write for five minutes. All on the same prompt. No extreme editing. No worrying about perfect grammar, font, or punctuation. Unscripted. Unedited. Real.

This weeks prompt: LONELY

The comradery that is had during a #FMFParty is amazing. I have friends across the map now. Some I tweet. Some are in an email chain. Others I have talked face to face with only our computer screens separating us. And there are even a special few I get to see inRL every week. I will be hugging one in a few short days and many others in a few short weeks! These friendships leave you feeling full and loneliness is nowhere to be seen.

Then a thought slips in. An old fear creeps up. And before you know it loneliness is all you can think about. Until a friend speaks truth and calls out those lies. Those insecurities are nothing more than lies. I do have a story to share. I do have amazing ideas that others want to hear about. I do matter. And as much as I matter to these beautiful friends, I matter even more to my creator. This is the what I must hold on to when the lies are louder than the truth from Jesus.

Andi and Brad have been married since 2002. They have five squishers who keep them on their toes. She is a second generation home educator. In her spare time Andi creates and sells handmade goodies in her shop, Andi Gould Designs.

  1. I'm so glad you wrote about this bc I was so insecure about writing along the same theme. I thought I should really be deeper and more profound, but it's what came out and it's real and it's my story. So glad I'm getting to know yours and meet you through that email chain and maybe inRL? Allume?

  3. Andi, you speak the truth here. Those are lies you hear and you shine so much brighter than any darkness that tries to cover you. I cannot wait to see you in two days!!

  7. Sometimes the lies are loud! But that's when I usually yell at the enemy to get behind Jesus. Then the truth is easier to hear. Thanks for sharing, Andi!

My dear, sweet friend, continue to shut out those lies. When they begin to bubble up again, that's when you shout the truth and remind your soul who you are. You are loved and cherished by so many...and friend? This is just the beginning of that community.

My question for you is… do you still manage to get up at 530 on Friday mornings?? :) Blessings today!
