Five Minute Friday: Broken

Five Minute Friday with Lisa-Jo Baker and hundreds of others. We write for five minutes. All on the same prompt. No extreme editing. No worrying about perfect grammar, font, or punctuation. Unscripted. Unedited. Real.

This week’s prompt: Broken

"I broke my blog..." said one online friend to another.

This community that I belong to, ROCKS!!! We gather around each other and help out when we make a mistake. Virtual hugs and real prayers are sent when someone is hurting or having a bad day. I can't seem to get enough of my new friends I have found here in the Five Minute Friday crew.

Last Saturday was amazing. I along with a handful of these girls all sat down in front of our computers and chatted for an hour, which turned into 2ish hours! Thanks to the World Wide Web distance did not matter. The only thing missing was being able to give them a real hug. One day friends. That is a promise!

There was a time when I was broken. I was broken after too many friendships went wrong. My heart was hard and I didn't want to let anyone into my life. Yet at the same time I was dying, literally emotionally dying, for friendship. Brad and I prayed for years for friends to come. God answered big time in His perfect timing.

My #benchgirls are more than I could have ever dreamed of for myself. This online community, well they just get me as a blogger and a person. God took my broken heart and has healed and mended and is continuing to refine this broken being. I pray my healing will pour into others lives. God has made me whole and I want Him to use me to be in community with others so hearts can continue to be mended.

Andi and Brad have been married since 2002. They have five squishers who keep them on their toes. She is a second generation home educator. In her spare time Andi creates and sells handmade goodies in her shop, Andi Gould Designs.

I still get this silly grin on my face when I think of being able to see all of you beautiful ladies and hear your hearts being spoken instead of a written. You are all such a gift...thank you for welcoming me into your group. I love how He redeems broken and makes it beautiful. :) Blessings and happy Friday, sweet friend!

  15. Oh how I adore this! I was sad to miss out last Saturday - but I know we'll have another one (and another one... and another one...) This community blesses over and over and over again! (We are all sort of from the island of misfit toys, right? All bruised up and broken in our own ways... but together we have community - and together, we press on and press in to healing!)
