Nine Years Ago Today

Brad proposed to me.

He had told me he had the whole day planned, which did give me the sneaking suspicion that he was going to ask. He had everything planned out and an envelope for each part of the day to let me know what was coming next.

He came to my parents house and made me breakfast before we went to church. After church the first place we headed for was the Detroit Institute of Art. We had a wonderful time walking around. And then when we were in a room with a Van Gogh painting, my favorite artist, he handed me this card.

The card reads: So you're engaged...

That has a nice ring to it!

And he wrote: I have a question for you.

While I opened it up and was reading he pulled out the ring. He said, "Andrea, will you marry me..." I interrupted with, "Yes!" and he finished, "...please?" He is such a gentleman.

Unfortunately the ring is currently living in the box because it won't fit on my finger when I'm pregnant.

This was one of the last cards he gave me that day and one of my favorites.

Brad had asked his friend to make an Origami purple rose, one of my favorite flowers. The rose is one of the first things you see when entering our front door. It is such a sweet memory of an amazing day.

This was our first picture as an engaged couple. I love you Brad and am still thrilled that you asked me to marry you.

Andi and Brad have been married since 2002. They have five squishers who keep them on their toes. She is a second generation home educator. In her spare time Andi creates and sells handmade goodies in her shop, Andi Gould Designs.
