Clean Home Carnival

I just came across this post from JulieMom. She just started this last week so I'm not too far behind jumping on her bandwagon. She mentioned she is a natural organizer. I don't have my bookmarks alphabetized, but then again I don't have bookmarks I have Delicious. I remember going to friends houses when I was younger and I would help them organize and clean (I'm not calling you out because I know you have changed your ways!).

I feel that I am naturally organized, sometimes. My family and friends always make comments about how organized I am, but truthfully when this comes up my mind jumps to all the areas in my home where I don't have that "on top of" feeling. Several weeks ago I rearranged the girls closet so they could access their toys and shoes and I could feel sane when the door was opened to get something out. The top shelf still needs a bit of tweaking but the shelves for the little people have not been put up yet so the big pieces are all lined up in the top of the closet (I need another great weather day so I can paint the shelves...) A few days after I worked in their room I went to town in the basement. I switched the "family room" and the "classroom/dining-area-for-more-than-6/office/craft-room/library." We now have a classroom/library which is all very organized (I do still have a bit to do in the closet) and a great open family room (I have some work to do in the office/craft room area). But the thing that has been in the back of my mind and overwhelming me to no end for months (really years, since we moved in....) is our storage closet. It reminds me of this clip from FRIENDS. There is a door in Monica's apartment that no one has ever opened and no one knows what is behind the door. When asked she won't give in to the questions so Chandler takes matters into his own hands.

This is what I want to work on this week. I'm afraid it will take longer than a few days but we have a three day weekend so maybe Brad will help (hint hint hubster!). I'm working up my nerve to go take a picture for you to all see and be shocked by what lives in my basement.... Check back later to see if I braved my own fears.

Andi and Brad have been married since 2002. They have five squishers who keep them on their toes. She is a second generation home educator. In her spare time Andi creates and sells handmade goodies in her shop, Andi Gould Designs.

  1. lol!
i have no comment about the condition my room was in when you came over when i was little.
i think you were organized simply because your mom would constantly threaten to throw your toys away if she found them on the floor.
    oh boy!!!
anyway, this also reminds me of the time that you left your earrings on the floor and i stepped on one. pierced heels never did catch on...
