Long Week

The past week was a long week around here. Brad was working late a lot, he had an important class he was training since they are going through some big changes. It was hard for the girls and I to wait for him to be home so late two weeks in a row (this week looks MUCH more promising for him to be home on time, yippee!).

I was working hard on the raffle portion of our second annual Psaghetti Dinner with Paradox. This year all the proceeds went to our children's ministry at church again. Last year we were the only ministry that made money. (GO US!!!!) So this year the funds are suporting the ministry for the year. It is our way of helping out the church which is feeling the pinching pennies like everyone and every business around here.

While the week was stressful getting everything ready and making sure all the prizes were in order our night was a great success!!!!! I don't have a total of the night yet, we are still counting (which I think is a great sign).

There is snow on the ground right now. Not much but still snow. grrrr. And what am I reading about this morning? Gardening. I have wanted to garden for years now. The problem is the neighborhood we live in is near the lake. Our lake is DIRTY! and causes different levels in the ground to be unsafe for food. While we are a couple miles from the shore it still concerns me. Last year I found an above ground gardening stand.

While this item is great and would allow me to plant above ground it costs $80! I have been trying to think of different ways to make something like this for much less money. I know growing our own veggies would save us money and it would be fun to reap from our labor. So my search for an answer is still on to find a way to garden.

This is my 200th post. How fun is that?! Thanks to all my family, friends and followers for still reading my ramblings!

Andi and Brad have been married since 2002. They have five squishers who keep them on their toes. She is a second generation home educator. In her spare time Andi creates and sells handmade goodies in her shop, Andi Gould Designs.
