I Am Here

The past week was not what I expected at all. Nothing bad happened, I have just been busy with, well a lot.

Thursday my mom took me for my ultrasound. My doctor wanted me to go in just to make sure everything was okay. I have a healthy baby! The heartbeat was just over 170 (that is fast). The measurements the ultrasound technician took are showing that the baby is a week ahead of where my doctor thought I was. The due date my doctor gave me is 4th of July.....

While fireworks are one of my favorite things, I just laugh every time someone asks me my due date and I have to say, "4th of July." So if my doctor changes my due date to go with the measurements my new due date will be June 28. Which means I could still end up with a 4th of July baby because both girls were late!

Once again I am helping with the Christmas pageant at church. Costumes and practices are consuming some of my time. Last night we had a good rehearsal. The kids are doing so well with their songs and I know it will be a hit again this year.

Brad and I are having Thanksgiving dinner in our home again with my family. I am super excited that my brother is coming home for the long weekend. He drove in last night and is staying til Sunday. The girls will be so happy to see him.

I am going to read Green Eggs and Ham with the Bookworm today. You may wonder why on earth would I read this book the day before Thanksgiving, but to me it makes perfect sense.

You see we are having ham not turkey for Thanksgiving. I know it may seem weird but I don't like turkey and when I can have my way, we eat ham!

The kindergarten class at the last nursery school I taught at hosted a Green Eggs and Ham banquet every year. The kindergarten class would make green eggs and all the families would bring food and we would have a big potluck dinner for the entire school. The kindergarten class would recite the whole book wearing their Dr. Seuss hats they had made.

So I decided to have green eggs with our ham since I love the book and I think it will be fun to have green eggs!

Today is the last Tot-Time at our library for the year. I know we will take the girls to the library during December, but there is something comforting in knowing every Wednesday I will be taking one of the girls to the library.

Our decorations are up. The did not go up on Saturday as planned. :( Saturday ended up being such a nice day Brad and I cleaned up our yard for the winter. He missed the big game. But his brother was nice enough to send text messages throughout the whole game to keep him informed of the big win! I missed decorating. But the yard is cleaned up.

Sunday I decorated the house and Monday we decorated the tree. If you weren't around last year you may have missed a post I wrote about my favorite Christmas gadget. I love gadgets! If you haven't put up your lights you may want to go read this first.

This little gadget has saved me so much time and money. I will not decorate with out it in hand.

While I have been absent the past few days, I have thought about posting all of these thoughts and more. I am so grateful to have this outlet and to have blogging friends. It is a different kind of friendship to have over the internet but all the same I am grateful for you.

Andi and Brad have been married since 2002. They have five squishers who keep them on their toes. She is a second generation home educator. In her spare time Andi creates and sells handmade goodies in her shop, Andi Gould Designs.
