Busted

Here you go Becca.

Gypsy has been teething on and off for over six months now. She has 1 1/2 teeth to show for all that hard work. So sad. Well last Thursday on top of our crazy play date morning she started really teething again after her nap that afternoon. When I had finished hanging the lights I came in and she was awake so I got her up and started posting about the day's events.

Apparently the event's were not over....

Within five minutes of being up her nose was running like a leaky faucet. I could not get tissues fast enough. As soon as I finished posting my blog entry I looked up at her and her nose was fine. I turned my computer off and looked at her again and the snot was hanging from her nose down past her chin, I kid you not!

I jumped up. Ran to the bathroom. Grabbed a tissue. Started to run back. And,

BAM!!!!

My baby toe hit the door frame as the next toe hit the marble slab on the bathroom threshold. And as much as I wanted to scream and cry I had one daughter who was still sleeping and one who had snot going everywhere. I wiped her nose. And then took a minute to look at the damage.

Now about three, maybe four, weeks ago I walked into the Ottoman in the living room and almost ripped a toe nail off. It only ripped half way off but was bleeding and hurting so bad.

THIS WAS TEN TIMES MORE HORRIBLE!!!!!

I got back on the computer and saw that a friend who is a former nurse was online. I asked her if there was anything to do other than ice. She said to buddy it to the next toe.

I waited til the next day to buddy it, but that helped SO much. While flip flops are not supportive at all I don't have any shoes that won't cause more pain. Which is why out in the snow I wore tennis shoes and suffered. When I was pregnant with Bookworm my feet didn't grow, but with Gypsy they grew a whole size. I'm very hesitant to go buy new shoes right now, I have no idea if my feet will grow anymore this time around.

So flip flops it is til my toe is better. Which normally is fine cause I wear them til mid-January anyway, but I heard more snow this weekend.....

i did that so many times at my parent's house....something about the way their furniture was arranged caused me to bash my toes quite often. but, as bad as it hurt, i never actually broke my toe. you have my sympathies!
