Rest Time?

I have said since Little Bo Peep was a few months old she would be one of those kids who doesn't nap after age three. I had a handful of students like that when I was teaching. Well she isn't three yet but she also isn't napping everyday. When she does nap she is up past 10 P.M.!!!! When she doesn't nap she is asleep by 9 at the latest. While the no nap days have some tough moments in the late afternoon at least she is asleep early.

A few weeks ago B and I decided to stop fighting her. She now has "rest time." I leave her shades open a bit, close her door and tell her she needs to play quietly.

The first day I heard her drum and had to say no drum during rest time. Most days I don't hear anything and never know if she is sleeping or just being quiet until I check on her. Monday B found her asleep on the floor in her tutu!

Today was a no nap day. When I went to tell her rest time was over this is what I found:

Little Bo Peep: "Mumma, it's a circle."
me: "Oh, an I take a picture?"
Little Bo Peep: "Yes."
I leave to get the camera, when I come back...
Little Bo Peep: "It's a flower."

I didn't get the "flower" reference til later when she started adding shoes to make a stem.

My blue eyed beauties.

  1. oh man, i think we need one of those shirts!
too cute with the shoes! does she have like a tree in her closet that grows shoes?!?

  2. Thats nuts!! I don't think Abby is that patient to sit and make a circle with shoes. She would have thrown them everywhere and said "look mama a tornado"!!

Thank you for stopping by today. I love hearing from you. Leave a comment and we can chat more!
